American road trip bar and grill

Mallory and I went to a new restaurant in Yucaipa for lunch. The waitress said it is the first of a chain, meaning that the owner intends to open others. Interesting that he started in Yucaipa, but I don't know this business.

It was sort of like a Red Robin, but with a more varied menu. We'll probably go back with the kids. Both of us had hamburgers, but there are a lot of other "American classics" on the menu including chicken and waffles. You have a choice of charbroiled or fried hamburger patties; unique in my experience. Both of us chose fried.

This is my Washington D.C. burger. It's topped with mac 'n cheese! I payed 99 cents to upgrade to onion rings.

The meat was very good. We weren't asked how well done we wanted it, but it was medium which is fine with me. Mallory said she might order hers charbroiled next time. My only complaint with the burger is that the lettuce was shredded. That fact was clearly indicated on the menu, but I missed it. I feel that shredded lettuce is a sign of  an attempt to cut costs and pass of inferior lettuce. I don't like the taste and don't expect it on a "high-end' burger.

Lots of other interesting items are available. I'm sure we'll go back.
